This policy explains what personal information the Can We Talk? website and Android app collect, why, and what you can do about it. It covers canwetalkvoice.com and the Can We Talk? app.
Who is responsible
The site is operated by Alpha Amadu Jalloh. For any question about your data, write to info@canwetalkvoice.com.

Payment details
We never see or store your card. Payments are handled on Stripe's own checkout pages. Our records hold only the amount, the date, and a Stripe reference for the transaction.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
- We show no advertising and run no advertising trackers.
- We run no third-party analytics that profile you across other websites.
- We do not collect your location, contacts or photos. The only device information we hold is the notification address above, and only if you turn notifications on.
Who else processes your data
We use a small number of services to run the site. They process data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase stores accounts and site content.
- Render runs the application server.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Resend sends account and order emails.
- GitHub Pages serves the website itself.
- Your phone or browser maker's notification service (Google, Apple or Mozilla) delivers notifications, if you turn them on. They receive the notification, not your account details.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage to keep you signed in, to remember what is in your basket, and to remember small preferences such as whether you dismissed the install prompt. Audiobook chapters and audio essays you choose to save for offline listening are stored on your device only, and you can remove them at any time. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Account information is kept while your account exists. Order records are kept for as long as business and tax rules require, even after an account is deleted, but they are detached from you and stripped of your name, phone number and address. Error reports are kept for about 30 days.
Your choices
- See or correct your details: sign in and open Account settings.
- Change your password: Account settings, or use "Forgot your password?" on the sign in screen.
- Delete your account: Account settings, under Danger zone. See how account deletion works.
- Ask us anything else: email info@canwetalkvoice.com.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Access to the author dashboard is restricted and can be protected with two factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not store card details, and we keep the data we do hold to what the site actually needs.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page.
