A citizen who insists on asking

At the center of Alpha's writing is a simple conviction: questioning leadership is not an act of hostility. It is part of citizenship. That belief runs through Mr. President, Can We Talk?, launched in Nairobi in August 2026 with Professor P. L. O. Lumumba officiating.

It was there before that book, too, in Monopoly of Happiness, his earlier examination of who in Sierra Leone gets to enjoy opportunity, and who is left outside it.

Beyond politics, into people

Essays like Everyone Is a Relative turn toward ordinary life: relationships, morality, dignity and the quiet things that connect strangers into something like family.

And in I Am a Misfit No One Can Tame, he turns the question on himself: what does it cost, and what does it earn, to refuse the shape everyone else expects you to take?
